Frequently asked questions
About tracking, AI and your data.
What is CuriaVia?
CuriaVia is an application that helps families guide their children’s learning. It connects the goals to work on, resources, planning, the sessions actually done, observations and each child’s progress.
CuriaVia also includes a public marketplace of educational resources and a separate creator workspace for the people who publish them.
Is CuriaVia only for homeschooling?
No. CuriaVia was first designed for home-educating families, but it also suits families who complement school: tutoring, languages, music, soroban, projects or any learning followed at home.
Does CuriaVia replace the official curriculum?
No. CuriaVia includes the French national curricula from PS to 3e (2026–2027 school year) as tracked goals, each linked to its source text and page. This catalogue makes tracking easier but does not replace reading the curricula. You can also create your own tracks and goals.
How is it different from a planner?
A planner says what you intend to do. CuriaVia distinguishes what was planned, what was actually done, what you observed and what you conclude for each goal. That link is what tells you what to review, consolidate or start next.
Is CuriaVia available in English?
This website, the marketplace and the creator workspace are available in French and English. The Family application is currently in French only, like the official curricula it includes.
How is progress tracked?
Each goal has one of four mastery levels — to assess, in progress, acquired, consolidated — and a separate fragility signal. Sessions and observations inform your decision but never change the level automatically: you decide, and every decision is kept in the history.
Can I produce a report?
Yes. A period report shows the mastery state at the chosen date, the work actually done, the history and the productions you select. Print it or save it as a PDF from your browser; your data can also be exported as JSON.
Does AI decide whether a skill is mastered?
No. AI proposes descriptions, links to goals and possible observations. Every proposal must be accepted or dismissed by you, and mastery levels are never changed by an analysis.
What data is sent to AI?
Only what the requested task needs. To analyse a resource: its content and the candidate goals. For an assessment: the documents you chose, their context and the goals of the selected level. Your other observations, names and household notes are not included.
Can I use CuriaVia without AI?
Yes. All tracking — goals, resources, planning, sessions, observations, progress and reports — works without any automatic analysis. AI is an occasional aid that you trigger yourself.
Try it with your own resources.
